I see a lot of my work as a resurrection of sorts, not for sentimental or nostalgic reasons, but for survival reasons. The paintings I make, the faces, the objects involve interventions and act as 'stand-ins' for something else. The singularity of each piece is preserved by working in a random ordered series. The Supplicants are not portraits or true reflections of the models. They are about something else - they are not mutants they are just unknowable.
