Wright, Richard
Working predominately with paint and gold leaf applied directly to walls, Richard Wright's paintings are often short-lived, only surviving the length of the exhibition; they are painted over at the end of the show. Knowing that the work may not be viewable again, in any other place, at any other time, the viewer’s senses are heightened. Wright's oeuvre also includes a wide range of works on paper, including prints on poster paper and elaborate large-scale works that can include thousands of hand-drawn and painted marks.
