The Beaney, Canterbury
22 June - 8 September 2013
Home is where we live but also the place of childhood left behind. It may be associated with parents and loved ones, or with independence; with everyday experiences or something special; with comfort or uncertainity and fear. It can be a place of fantasy or memories, and somewhere to escape from or retreat to.
This exhibition presents paintings and photographs specially selected for The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge from the Arts Council Collection. It includes work by Michael Andrews, Zarina Bhimji, Richard Billingham, Sonia Boyce, Patrick Heron, Winifred Nicholson, Ceri Richards, William Roberts and Carel Wright.
