falling up: the gravity of art

24 June 2011

23 June - 4 September 2011

Presenting paintings, sculpture, photographs and engravings by Peter Paul Rubens, Auguste Rodin, Cornelia Parker and Wolfgang Tillmans, amongst others, the exhibition will reveal artists’ ongoing fascination with notions of gravity, from the 16th to the 21st century.

It brings together works from two distinct collections, The Courtauld Gallery and the Arts Council Collection, and presents a unique opportunity to see key works from The Courtauld’s collection in unusual and provocative juxtaposition with contemporary British art.

The show has been curated by students on The Courtauld Institute of Art's Curating the Art Museum MA programme.
