Infinite futures: Collections and digital media. Curators Day

21 October 2010

Government Art Collection, London

3 December 2010

The Government Art Collection will be relaunching its website following a process of evaluation, redesign and redevelopment.  This Curator’s Day will use the GAC web development project as a starting point to discuss a number of key issues around the future of collections-based websites. New virtual audiences: where are they and who are they? Is the notion of a physical gallery now redundant? Are some people discriminated against by the fact that some collections are more easily accessible online? And what will future technology demand from museums and galleries?
