The Arts Council Collection is currently recruiting for a Collection Assistant to join the team at Longside, Yorkshire Sculpture Park in providing a welcoming and efficient service to the public, artists, contractors, consultants and promoters at Longside.

Supporting our outreach, digital, education and evaluation activities, the Collection Assistant will also provide administrative assistance to support all aspects of the care, display and research of sculpture in the Arts Council Collection. They will also provide key administrative support to the National Partners Programme, a new scheme to support the artistic ambitions of a new constellation of partner galleries, launched to mark the 70th anniversary of the Arts Council Collection.

With excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and high attention to detail; the ideal candidate will be a strong team player, with a demonstrable interest in modern and contemporary British art. You will be confident in your ability to work calmly in a pressurised environment, and have proficient IT skills, including experience with databases, Google Mail and Drive, MS Office and social media sites; experience of using Photoshop is desirable. Experience of liaising with artists, curators, contractors, press and the public; assisting with social media initiatives in a gallery or museum context; and condition checking works of art are also desirable.
