Lincolnshire Waterway and Distant Wash

1982
Barker, Kit
Self-taught as an artist, Kit Barker painted landscapes from rapid sketches and photographs of landscapes in England, Wales, France and Italy. He was interested in recording the impact particular places had on him. Barker was a keen traveller and researched the history and social customs of the places he visited - he was often struck not only by the scenery but by local associations. 'Lincolnshire Waterway and Distant Wash' is one of many works he painted, depicting water and its reflection of light.
