Near Dundee, Scotland, 1977

Badger, Gerry
‘These photographs exude a haunting and eerie atmosphere, but are also beautiful. The trees are highlighted by strands of white light that creates a spider web effect, it makes a pretty pattern but the jagged lines are also creepy; there is a contrast. The places are scattered with objects that appear to have once been used but are now left abandoned. What happened to the people that were once there? These images are like stills from a horror movie, not only because of the use of black and white film but because of the stillness of the photographs and objects such as the hanging doll and stone figure.’ Eloise Day and Emily Hill
