Simple Truths

An Arts Council Collection National Partners Programme Exhibition.

Simple Truths is an exhibition curated by dads from the WILD Young Parents Project, a charity that provides whole-family services for young parents and their children.

The artworks for Simple Truths have been chosen over the course of several months, with dads working on the selection alongside The Exchange since March 2021, from their allotment in Pengegon, Camborne.

On each visit to the allotment, the dads were asked to select an artwork from the Arts Council Collection catalogues. An interesting collection of works has steadily formed, with choices reflecting the participants’ state of mind or spoke of past experiences or future ambitions.

The artworks often provided the starting point for personal reflections around mental health or what was happening in the lives of the dads at that moment in time. Simple Truths includes works by David Batchelor, Shezad Dawood, and Liv Preston, among others.
