Venice 2019 Curators' Day

15 July 2019

Our 2019 Venice Curators’ Day brought together UK-based arts professionals for a day of talks and tours of selected exhibitions at the 58th Venice Biennale, offering participants the opportunity to meet and hear from the curatorial teams and artists behind each exhibition.

As part of the event we invited attendees to share their thoughts on the day and some of the exhibitions visited for a series of short films, produced with support from Art Fund.

Film 1: Helen Pheby, Head of Curatorial Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park discusses Eva Rothschild’s exhibition, The Shrinking Universe, for the Irish Pavilion.

Film 2: Helen Nisbet, curator and Art Night Artistic Director discusses Sean Edwards’ exhibition Undo Things Done for the Welsh Pavilion.

Film 3: Angelica Vanasse, Engagement Manager for the National Partners Programme at Walker Art Gallery reflects on Charlotte Prodger’s exhibition for the Scottish Pavilion.

Film 4: Emma Moore, Curator of Engagement at Chisenhale Gallery in London reflects on Cathy Wilkes’ exhibition for the British Pavilion.

The 58th Venice Biennale 2019 runs until 24 November 2019.
